Hi, this is Dorothy! I am SO grateful to be living where I do. This past Easter weekend was one with brilliant sunshine. Springtime! It is, and it always has been, my favourite time of year. It's a renewal time, as leaves return to the trees and flowers bloom. It's a time when I see more of my neighbours, as they work around their homes. Yet, it isn't a sudden switch, but a gradual blossoming. Nature, always the great teacher, is a perfect example of incremental growth, one leaf at a time.
In the midst of our, it seems, ever increasingly busy lives, we can learn from Nature, by taking one step at a time. When I recorded my Stepping Stones© CD I mentioned walking down a dark country road with my father when I was very young, and being apprehensive about falling. He would tell me that gradually my eyes would become accustomed to seeing the road, and they did, but only one step at a time. We couldn't see the entire road, and yet by taking each step, we eventually arrived at our destination, my grandparents' home. And so it is with our lives, for we aren't shown a year down the road, but one day at a time. Certainly, we can set our course, our intention, and make each day count.
I am currently attending an excellent 10-week course on Prosperity, designed by Mary Manin Morrissey. On last week's DVD she reminded me of an expression I first read on her Daily Dream Builder email, which is an inspirational start to my day. (MaryMorrissey.com) She referred to each new day as 'a lifetime in miniature'. This conjures up immense possibilities. It's a day that will never be repeated, and we get to choose our experiences. We get to write the script, dream new dreams, have a placid day or put lots of zip into it, by taking one step at a time.
Let me close with the inspirational wisdom of Matthew Fox, a former Dominican Priest, who suggested we fall in love at least three times a day - with your life, hearing the birds singing, your cat curled up asleep, the sunshine - by looking for opportunities, we will surely find them - and be sure to fall in love with yourself, for you are a very special Divine creation. And then always add, "thank you".
So do have a wonderful month. Live each day by taking one step at a time, and you will arrive at your destination. I am gradually learning to use Facebook, by taking baby steps, so my intention for this month is to update Innisfree's site as well as my personal one. There is a link on my website, so please 'drop in'. If I can support and mentor you with the next step on your journey, let us talk.
Until next time, this is Dorothy, wishing you beautiful spring days and rich blessings. Namasté.
