This is Dorothy Blandford. Thank you for visiting Innisfree. I hope that what you hear, or read, will 'speak' to you in a meaningful way.
This month's focus is on compassionate self-care - having compassion and caring for yourself.
How often do we put ourselves at the bottom of the list? Perhaps it's because of a busy life style, or because we're looking after someone else's needs. In a small book, One Minute for Myself, Spencer Johnson writes about the man who had trouble receiving, until he realized that if no one receives, no one can give. Once he learned to give to himself and receive from himself, he experienced greater inner peace, which had the ripple effect of benefiting others in his life.
In the words of the Dalai Lama:
"Peace starts within each of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us."
During December, which is often exceptionally busy, please take personal time each day to do something special for you, with NO guilt. You deserve it. Always remember that your life is a gift and a blessing to the world. I wish you a beautiful Christmas Holiday Season, filled with many peaceful moments.
This is Dorothy. Until next time ... Namasté.
