It's said that Ireland is a land of stories and story-tellers. In my early days we would sit at the kitchen table, reading by oil lamp, or around the fireside, with the kettle ever on the boil, ready to make a pot of tea for family, friends or neighbours who dropped in. So now I invite you to drop in, sip your tea, and warm yourself by the fire. The hearth illustrated is in the home of the husband of my late friend from teenage years, beside which I spent many happy hours during our visits. I'll share some short tales that go up hills, down valleys and around corners.
