We are now a few days into 2014, a new chapter in our lives. My wish for you, and for me, is that it will be a different year, rather than a repeat of 2013. It may be built upon the 'shoulders' of last year, but 2014 will have its own identity, and perhaps a specific focus.
For many years I have chosen a theme for each year, and this year's is "Simplicity and Consistency", which - with the accuracy of 20/20 hindsight - is not how I have lived my life... until now!! Having chosen the theme, I list each quarter in a notebook, followed by priorities for the individual months.
As you contemplate your vision and shake off the dust of 2013, may I suggest that, most important, is to believe in yourself. Your life is a gift - the gift of you that you bring to each day and share with others. If a day wasn't quite what you would have liked, tomorrow is a new day. A metaphysical teacher whom I studied, Raymond Charles Barker, wrote: "Yesterday ended last night". Wise words indeed.
On a lighter tone, I conclude with a prayer by Nancy Spiegelberg, quoted in Be Happy by Robert Holden (P161): "Oh God of second chances and new beginnings, here I am again..."!! Happy New Beginnings... may you have a special 2014 filled with daily laughter.
